Terms of Service
Version baseline ยท Effective 07 Jun 2026
This version may require acceptance before protected features are used.
Councillor.io is a local civic workflow tool. Residents can submit local reports and councillors can manage, prioritise, and respond to them. The service is not an emergency service. If there is immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency authority.
Residents must submit reports in good faith, provide accurate information where possible, and avoid abusive, unlawful, discriminatory, or unrelated content. Reports may be moderated, rate limited, closed, or removed if they are unsafe, irrelevant, duplicated, spam, or outside the service purpose.
Councillors are responsible for how they use the service, what they publish on their public pages, and how they respond to residents. AI-generated drafts, summaries, and classifications are assistance only. A human councillor remains responsible for decisions, public statements, and resident communications.
The service may apply usage limits, calm-down periods, account pauses, and anti-abuse controls to protect residents, councillors, infrastructure, and internal costs. Attempts to use the service for unrelated LLM scraping, automated abuse, credential misuse, or data harvesting are not allowed.
Paid plans, sponsored accounts, trials, and internal-free accounts may have different allowances. Free or sponsored service waives payment from the councillor but does not waive usage limits, fair-use rules, or abuse controls.
Councillor.io may change these terms as the product evolves. Material changes may require councillors or residents to accept a newer version before continuing to use protected features.
